The sequel, Among the Impostors by Margaret Peterson Haddix, will engage my struggling students to continue reading. They will read and discuss the key ideas of the text as they follow the plot line of what is happening to the main character, Luke. They are so excited to see what will happen to Luke in the sequel. I have found a book that has sparked their interest and hope for them to experience and grow a love for reading. This series touches on topics that engaged my students in discussions and writing about the government, debating the fairness of the laws that are imposed on Luke, his family and the society.

About my class
