Hatching eggs in the classroom is an event that most children do not get to experience. The Ovascope will give my students the opportunity to observe the egg at every developmental stage of the cycle. The incubator will allow the students to witness the mini miracle of hatching; and the brooder will imitate how the hen keeps the chicks warm as the students care for the babies in our very own classroom. Teaching the Life Cycle of a Chick is an EGG-cellent hands on activity that creates some of the most exciting days in the Pre-K classroom. My students will learn to make observations and predictions as well as the procedures to care for the chicks. Having chicks in the classroom will help build a sense of community as well as encouraging responsibility.
