In my science class, students become scientists and engineers to enhance and demonstrate their learning. Each unit ends in a project that challenges students to use their topics they've learned over the past weeks into an invention that improves the world around them. These supplies are instrumental in helping student through the steps of the engineering design process. These supplies will be used by students to design and build prototypes of the inventions they have created with their peers. Being able to see directly how the concepts they have learned in class apply to the real world increases student interest, motivation, and excitement in the science classroom.
