Just two short weeks ago, we began the second semester at our middle school! Last year, English scores increased thirty-one points on the MAP Performance Index while the state of Missouri had an average decrease of nine points. Our school also increased an additional five weeks of learning in English while math growth increased an additional twelve weeks. So far this year, we are on track to continue our academic growth, exceeding expectations. We are excited about the progress we've made with reading and math scores. We are setting up our classrooms to have another successful semester! However, we can't do it alone. In order to succeed, our students need basic school supplies such as pencils, folders, notebooks, pencil cases, art supplies and scissors. Last year, each teacher spent $250 to $750 on pencils, markers, cleaning agents and other essential supplies for our classrooms. My fellow teachers and I want to be able to give ALL our of students every resource they deserve, and we asking for your help! We have worked together to create a project that will benefit ALL 395 kiddos in our school from every classroom. We hope you take a peek at what we need and help us stock our classrooms! Any and all donations will help us create a positive learning environment! Some of our favorite items are art supplies for our budding talented artists, mini dry erase boards to increase classroom participation and engagement and writers' notebooks for classroom journals! Please help in any way that you can! Our students and teachers thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
