Working with children requires a ton of flexibility! From meetings, to accidents, to special events; let's just face it, your plans are going to go completely wrong, you name it! You're constantly on the go, rearranging and changing your schedule until you find the right fit! Everyday brings new challenges for the students and teachers are required to tweak their teaching styles to reach their students' needs. With comfy seats, my students will be able to take charge of their learning without limitations being forced upon them. Not every teacher teaches the same way, so every student shouldn't be forced to learn the same way! Being restricted can be a scary feeling. Flexible seating will allow my students to move and balance—reducing restlessness and anxiety while improving focus as they learn! Flexible seating also allows my students needing sensory support to have the necessary tools needed to help stimulate their focus. Each day, my students will be allowed to choose a seat and a comfy location in the classroom that they feel works best for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, on the floor, or carpet. Making sure my students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them to learn and reaching their highest level of academic achievement. When my students are given a choice in their seating, they are more driven and their work is improved by 80%.
