There has been much research on how giving students the option for flexible seating has improved their focus and strengthened their academics. With my group of second graders, I have slowly given them options for some flexible seating and have seen only positives. They are excited to work, they are much more comfortable than the given chairs, and are able to move around without distractions. Giving them the resources to succeed is my goal and I will continue to work every day to do so. My group of students are also very strong readers and have been working through my classroom library. I want to give them more books that they love, such as the Magic Treehouse collection.
