Most students have access to a cell phone or laptop. Several do not. The school does not have tablets/laptops readily available for daily use in my classroom. Having a small classroom set of Kindle Fire tablets will enable these students to use language learning apps to receive individualized lessons that are personalized to their learning style, paced according to their progress, and fun! Each day students begin class with 20 minutes working individually in the Duolingo app. During this time, I move about the room and provide individualized tutoring and instruction. Duolingo for Classrooms immediately shows me the class's progress. This allows me to use the second half of class to fill in the learning gaps with more traditional classroom instructional activities. The Google Software License will enable me to allow students access solely to Duolingo, TinyCards, and the other language-learning apps used in the classroom. The classroom doesn't have any type of speaker system. Currently, we rely upon my laptop's not-so-good speakers. I stand in the middle of the classroom, near the students that are hard-of-hearing, and face the speakers towards the main body of group. We'll use the Bluetooth speaker daily.
