The trip to the Museum of Jewish Heritage will allow my students to study the voices of those that lived through The Holocaust. It is my hope that through this trip, my students will not only gain an understanding of how something like this could happen in our world and allow them to become a voice against injustice and say “never again”. My students are grappling with who they are, how they fit into the world, and how they can make a difference. We will explore all of these questions through our museum visit and studying the stories of when people were making these very same decisions about themselves and their world. Our trip to the museum will include hearing from a Holocaust survivor, as well as visiting the exhibition of Auschwitz: not long ago, not far away. Students will visit this living memorial and be able to interact and learn from the most comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the history of Auschwitz and it's victims.
