Help our class transition from outdated desks and broken chairs to new tables and stackable chairs! So much instructional time is spent keeping the inside of desks organized as well as making sure they stay together when placed in groups of four. I am hoping to minimize distractions in the classroom by converting to tables. Converting to activity tables will eliminate distractions as well as provide sufficient work space to participate in cooperative learning activities with other members of a group. Our classrooms are not spacious so having only 4 students in group of desks and 24-26 students overall can limit our classroom space. Switching to tables will allow more room for flexible seating in the future as well as more floor space for whole group learning. We are on the pathway toward alternative seating in the classroom to support differentiation and student choice. I want my students to be able to learn in a comfortable, supportive environment that works best for them. Having the adjustable activity tables will allow tables to be lowered so students can sit on the floor with cushions. We will also have the option of raising tables so students can stand or sit on a stool rather than using a traditional chair. Please consider helping my class move out with the old and in with the new by donating to this project. Thank you!
