Have you ever found yourself antsy during a long seminar or meeting? This is a typical feeling for many 3rd grade students in my classroom as they do their best to attend and engage in learning throughout the day. I've observed this first hand throughout the past four years as a classroom teacher. My students come to school energetic and eager to learn, but it's difficult to maintain attention throughout the day with limited recesses and movement. I consistently implement brain breaks, interactive learning, and movement into my classroom to help keep my students' focus and attention alive, but they still need more! Students who have attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity issues especially struggle to stay focused throughout the day. The sensory stools that I'm requesting would help all of my students, especially those with attentional concerns, to maintain stamina and focus throughout the day. Better focus transpires into more learning and success! By having these seating options on my classroom, they will aid in students reaching their goals and heightening their enjoyment of school. These wobble stools will benefit at least 10 students in my classroom at one time, namely those who struggle with hyperactivity and attention issues. These stools have the potential to increase engagement, focus, motivation, and enjoyment of school. I've used t-stools and bumpy seats in the past and have seen a noticeable different in students' attention. These stools will be able to be used for many years and will help students see that we all need different things to help us learn best!
