Due to cognitive disabilities, my students learn best with hands on opportunities. My students love using arts and crafts when learning academics (reading, writing, math). Every Friday, I do a whole group lesson and talk about what we’ve learned that week. This is when we integrate arts and crafts into our lessons. Students will use the construction paper, paint, and glue. We also have music time on Fridays. My students are learning to play instruments. Most will throw them in the floor and don’t know to properly use them. I am also requesting file folders. These are very important in our classroom. These are used to become teacher-made- activity-file folders that are academic based (math, reading and science related). These folders help with memory, task completion, motor skills, receptive skills . Since the folders need to be laminated and have Velcro to complete them, I am asking for a supply of these materials.
