My project is to help students understand what it is to be an immigrant and living in another country who doesn't have the same freedoms that we do in the United States. It is important that students learn about how other countries have camps to keep people in and usually it is far from good conditions. With the stories we've heard on the news lately about children and even adults dying in cages, I thought it was important for students to have an idea of what that feels like. The students will use the button maker to make buttons to advertise their campaign and their stance on the subject, so they will be running a human rights campaign. The students will use the locks to go through a series of escape rooms to understand how immigrants feel when governments get ahold of them trying to escape.
