Students in today's classrooms have more technology at their fingertips than we ever though possible just a few decades ago. Cultivating engaging lessons that utilize all of the possible technology available to students today is the goal of this project. 3D printers and coding is one of the fastest growing sectors in the job market and helping students develop a concrete foundation in these practices is an important facet of the educational model I hope to create in my room. With this 3D printer, my students will be able to design creative solutions to complex problems and model their understanding of difficult topics with tangible evidence. The da Vinci Pro 3D printer will be used throughout the year's curriculum to provide a deeper depth of knowledge by asking students to create rather than memorize. The kids in my class will be asked to design models of human organs, create complex molecules and collaborate with peers and professionals to cultivate the best solution to bio-engineering projects.
