Our Kindergarten classrooms have some exciting field trips planned for this year. We hope to visit: Madison School Forest, apple and pumpkin patch, local planetarium, The Rainbow Fish OnStage presentation, The Dane County Humane Society and the Henry Vilas Zoo. Since well over 70% of our families receive free and reduced lunch, we are mindful of the financial impact of these field trips on our families. They are able to cover a portion of the admission costs but sadly transportation costs have continued to escalate. The average bus cost for one trip is $300 (i.e. 2 buses @ $150 each). Giving children the gift of invaluable "outside the classroom" opportunities to learn, helps to expand our kids’ horizons and bridge the achievement gap. To help us provide these hands-on, interactive experiences, we are requesting donations to cover our field trip admission and transportation costs.
