This colorful carpet will give my students an alternative space to learn. They will have the opportunity to sit with a buddy to practice their addition and subtraction facts, spread out and write creative stories independently or with a friend, and even review phonics skills with a small group of classmates. The larger carpet will allow students to improve their reading fluency by practicing sight words, reading decodable texts, and composing responses to what they've read. All students will be able to engage in rigorous learning activities that stimulate their little minds. This space will give students the flexibility to complete assignments in a spot other than their uncomfortable, hard seats. Our current carpet does not provide enough room for all of my darling students to sit comfortably. This brighter, more inviting carpet, will provide my students more space to sit, allowing everyone to feel included and be comfy while learning.
