The materials I am requesting through this project will help me to reach all the different reading interests of my students. It will also aid to my read alouds throughout the school year. My students love being read to and the more books I have to choose from the more texts my students will be exposed to. This will help build on their knowledge of books and aid to all students' interests along the way. Students are not fully engaged and excited about reading unless they are given the opportunity to read about their interests. When I choose a theme to go along with the content I teach it is based on standards and the interests of my students. These themes have various opportunities for read alouds as well as book investigations. These read alouds are kept in the classroom library and students can check them out in their book boxes throughout the week. These books will allow my students to explore different topics and support my themes throughout the school year.
