The students in my class attend a Title I, low-income school. Most of our kids receive free or reduced lunch. Many of our students, especially at the 4th grade level, go home to an empty house and take care of younger siblings while parents are working. Parents are unable to donate items to the classroom due to financial situations. In most cases, Teachers are forced to spend their own money to purchase items they need for the classroom, including daily supplies like pencils and paper. Our kids deserve the best!
