Each nine weeks we do a chapter book study in my classroom. I read a book aloud to my students and we have class discussion and work on literary skills together while having fun reading. Classroom read-alouds are a great experience for the kids because it helps struggling readers while also entertaining the class as a whole and allowing me as the teacher to reemphasize key concepts for them. "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" is a great book for their age level and will be utilized year after year with each new class that enters my fourth grade classroom.
