Coming in as a new teacher in the middle of the year has been a wonderful and exciting opportunity. However, I have had limited time to gather classroom resources such as books, educational games, and organizational materials. Building a classroom library that offers choice in interest is a top priority. I look at each student as an individual and believe that choice in literature matters when motivating students to read. The educational games will help my students work cohesively with one another while building relationships that will improve our classroom community. I have also added organizational materials that will help with classroom management, so our class may run efficiently. I have studied over two years on the positive impacts that classroom collaboration makes on student success. By funding my project, you are helping to create a positive classroom environment in which ALL students should experience.
