They say the best way to learn something is to teach it. To begin teaching something you have to be able to explain it. The research shows that when students are able to explain their thinking they are working at a higher depth of knowledge and mastering the content. By podcasting their understanding of concepts, not only are the students solidifying their learning, but they are also providing additional supports for their classmates. A podcast will provide students a platform to share their thoughts and ideas. And just like podcasts done by professionals, the material can be accessed in the future as a way to provide differentiated instruction for future classes. This project will amplify student voice across multiple classrooms and for years to come.
