The clay and ceramic supplies will give my students a chance to explore and experiment with sculpting materials they may not have experienced or get to do again! We will use the clay to create hand built projects that help the students understand the properties, processes and skills that go into ceramic products. Students will be able to perceive how a ceramic artist works and what goes into creating one piece of pottery. The low fire clay and glazes can be used to create pottery and other functional items. The polymer clay can be used to create small ornaments, beads, and jewelry pieces. My students have a choice in what they create, and ceramic projects are always highly engaging and much anticipated! This hands on project will keep them involved and focused on creative thinking and problem solving. Many students, and parents/guardians, also look forward to these projects as something they can give as gifts and keep for a long time.
