Gardening is a wonderful way to empower kids. It gives them the chance to plant, nurture, and see the benefits of their work. Kids participate in each phase of the development of the plant. Then, they are able to see t what they created through their hard work. This empowering process is a great way of building the student's self esteem. Although learning about plants is considered a life science skill, it connects to many parts of a kid's life. The daily caring for the plants is exercise for the kids. The sampling of their harvest helps the kids to acquire healthy eating habits. It also builds social skills as the students interact with each other.
