Our elementary is a small school that strives to do what is best for the students. Our school district was impacted heavily during Hurricane Harvey which has created many budget cuts. Funding for technology is not easy to come by due to the financial strain the hurricane caused. For my project, I chose iPads, noise cancelling headphones, and a weighted blanket. I work with a variety of students that have special needs. My students will benefit from the use of the iPad to access digital learning to meet their educational needs. Some students I work with have sensory issues that can make it difficult for them to focus in the classroom. Some students I work with need all the extra noise around them blocked out so they can focus while they work. Noise cancelling headphones can be very useful for students by lowering their frustration and increasing their work output. The weighted blanket can provide sensory input while students work.
