Some may think a light table is just for science exploration and discovery, but the benefits definitely don’t end there. A light table can be used to enhance literacy, math, and writing skills in fun and playful ways. Children are naturally drawn to the gentle glow of the light table and tend to stay there for long periods of time, which is great for stretching those budding attention spans of my PreK students! The light table is a versatile tool that can be used for everything from open-ended play experiences to arts and crafts, to teaching academic concepts, and more! My students will be using the Crystal Building Blocks and MagnaTiles for sorting, counting, measuring, building and much more!
