My students and I read all the time in class; my classroom is a place for stories and imagination. Since my students are struggling readers, I strive to bring reading to them so that we can work together to build their confidence, while also working to improve their reading abilities so that they can continue to explore new worlds and stories outside of the classroom. Reading as a class lets my students better understand the material and ask questions about the story. We question what as happened, make predicts for the future, and ultimately react to the story together. A class set of books will help my students continue to progress and improve in their journey to become lifelong, independent learners!
