live in Libby, Montana which is a small town nestled between the mountains of Glacier National Park and Idaho. Libby was once an area known for its mines and timber industry. Unfortunately, the downfall of those industries in the area has resulted in a high number of children living in poverty. We are a Title I school with K-6 students and teachers sharing a building and resources. As a first-year teacher, my passion for helping my kiddos greatly outweighs my resources and finances. There is so much I want for my students that I don't have the ability to provide at this time. My student's parents and the community are amazing and very supportive of our school. Most, however, don't have the means to help with purchasing supplies for the classroom.
