Using the egg incubator will give my students the opportunity to hatch and raise baby chicks. Living in the suburbs my students have limited experience with raising and caring for animals. The products that I have selected will allow my students to have a hands-on learning experience that will engage and excite them. Students will see first hand how a baby chick develops, hatches and grows. Working together they will ensure the temperature and humidity of the incubator on a daily basis. They will also document the growth of the chick through candling. Together they will see how a chick hatches out of an egg. They will also help to feed and care for the chicks for several days after they hatch. Having the needed materials will allow my students to have a learning experience they can look back on for the rest of their lives.
