The Road to Reading Activity Center, from Lakeshore Learning will help my special education students increase their potential of finally becoming readers. Using the Lakeshore sight word cards and sentence builders will help prepare them to strengthen those reading skills and increase the potential to become successful writers. The modeled Lakeshore math trays will continue to support their pre-math skills in a more organized way as they sort, count and begin the skills of basic addition and subtraction in a visual and tactile manner, which typically increases their success rates. Moods and Emotion Matching Wooden Puzzles, from Lakeshore Learning will help us work on identification of how to read ourselves, our peers and the adults in the classroom and home settings. As we become able to recognize other's facial cues we become stronger in our connection to our world and communities. Sand timers help us to remain focused to the task at hand and to build the skills to complete our work in a timely fashion.
