The majority of my students deal with a wide variety of sensory issues. Some are tactile while others are auditory and visual. I usually provide a wide variety of stress related objects for my students to use throughout the class. Environmental stimulus are a major concern in my class. Students state the bright fluorescent lighting causes them headaches as well as stress related behavior. Having a fire retardant approved light shades would significantly decrease behaviors and increase a sense of calmness. All sensory products are appreciated in helping our students learn in a supportive atmosphere that meets their individual needs.
