My students are struggling with phonics skills and those who need extra practice and reinforcement on letters and sounds are not motivated to choose those lessons from the Language shelf. The materials I have requested would enhance these lessons and excite my kids about learning the alphabet. The Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs are great for using objects to learn about beginning sounds. Having bright colorful real life objects to match to the sandpaper letters would provide them more of a hands-on approach to learning. The Alphabet puzzles are great to help them match the picture to the letter they hear at the beginning of the words. As they master beginning sounds and CVC words, the Blends & Digraphs Teaching Tubs will help them to move on to learning letter blends and reading CCVC words. The Rhyming and Opposites puzzles are a fun way to learn how different words sound the same at the end and the meaning of opposites. These materials would all be a great addition to my Language shelf and would be beneficial in helping excite and motivate my kids to learn about phonics.
