This is a schoolwide reading challenge is for both students and teachers. READ WOKE is a feeling, a movement, a call to action. It means arming yourself with knowledge so you can be a lifelong learner. You can stand up for yourself and others regardless of your religion, race, creed, color, or orientation. The Paperwhites will be the prizes for those that have read the most books on the master list. The READ WOKE Challenge books that have been chosen on the master list specifically for Gaston MS will hopefully open a dialog between all students and teachers that learning about others is the key to understanding and standing up for yourself. Let the READ WOKE Challenge begin! This challenge is not an original idea but one I have taken and molded to work at Gaston.
