Graphic novels are the most popular genre in our school library. When students are reading books they self-select and are interested in, they are more motivated and engaged in reading. Sometimes there are not enough of these books for every student that wants one. These graphic novels will give students more access to the type of books they love to read. Graphic novels engage beginning and reluctant readers with illustrations, action and conversation. With about 80% of our campus being economically disadvantaged, reading is so important to student success. By connecting a student with books they love, we are creating life-long readers!
