Winter in Boston is brutal and commuting by walking and public transportation leaves you particularly exposed to the elements. Some of our students face commutes of over an hour and a half to get to school every day. When they do arrive, they’re often chilled, which greatly reduces their readiness to learn. Their time in the classroom is particularly important as our school offers an expedited course of study to accommodate student need for employment. Consequently, every minute lost in the classroom has a dramatic impact on their overall instructional time. These jackets from Columbia will directly impact our students readiness for school, as well as contribute to their overall well-being throughout their daily lives. With these winter coats, our students will be more school and work ready. Above all, providing warmth for these students will aid their safety during the cold winter months.
