Ace Amandla Charter School is a newly merged school on the South side of Chicago. While each school had equipment for the gymnasium, it was essentially the same equipment at both schools. This year, we have decided it is time to revamp our physical education program at the school to introduce new and more challenging games, fitness, and nutrition. However, due to a low budget, it has been hard to get new equipment at the school. With this project, we will be able to add two new sports soccer and badminton into our Physical Education Equipment. Most of the students at Ace Amandla are so used to playing basketball, and not being introduced to new and exciting activities. They are also not used to having to be forced to work through a lot of challenging situations that come with sports in the past. As their instructor, I pride myself on bringing in new and creative ideas for these students to be able to try at the building. My goal is to get students interested in new activities that they could be more willing to participate in outside of school, as well as learn how to be better teammates and individuals.
