It is a breathtaking story about human discovery and the birth of environmentalism. Too often the importance of the history of science is overlooked. Humanizing science and putting it in context allows students to understand how discoveries are made, what the world was like before those discoveries, and understand how our culture influences science. We will use these books to help show Biology students what it means to be a scientist--and that they are capable of great discovery too.
