I am in a school where budget cuts have eliminated the purchase of new furniture. Currently, our desks and chairs are about 30 years old, are scarred, damaged in various ways, and are heavy and uncomfortable. As a result, our classroom furniture needs updating. In addition, due to the damage our school sustained during Hurricane Florence, a lot of our furniture has been compromised due to moisture issues. In order to make learning fun and engaging, I would like to provide students with the opportunity to show their work in a creative manner using a whiteboard table and individualized instruction. I want my students to feel comfortable while working in small groups with me by writing down equations and classwork on their desk. I can also help reinforce topics and concepts right then and there. I hope this table provides and engaging experience for some students who fear going to the white board to show their work. Help my classroom move away from the traditional paper pencil notes. Currently, my classroom has desks that are almost 30 years old. These desks are a one-piece chair/table combination that is heavy, have been damaged over the years, and are scarred. I have over 115 students who come into the my classroom to learn each day.
