These materials will completely revolutionize learning and understanding in my classroom. With a high EL student population there is a great need for me to make my instruction comprehensible. My students need many opportunities for re-teaching, repetition,practice, and individual attention however, there is only one of me! Imagine how, with the Cannon HD camera, I could make engaging videos which re-teach lessons and provide extra practice; the students could re-watch my lesson whenever they need it, even if I am busy teaching a small group, working with an individual student, or even out of the classroom in a meeting! Many times lessons move too fast or my students who get pulled for intervention groups miss my instruction completely. Videos would allow my students to deepen their understanding of the content by re-watching and pausing so they can learn at their own pace and work along with me. I will use these videos to mainly demonstrate complicated math concepts which need explicit modeling. In other subjects I plan to turn the camera on the students and watch them come alive as they act out plays, conduct interviews to be shown on our whole school morning announcements, or use their creative writing skills to start a class podcast.
