My first-grade students are eager and enthusiastic learners! They come to school every day ready to help each other and reach their fullest potential. They come from a variety of different socioeconomic backgrounds. Some of my students receive special services and have difficulty communicating and have had to adapt to communicate in other ways. However, this does not prevent them from wanting to do their best. They love engaging and challenging activities that promote their creativity. My class lacks readily available portable technology that individual students can use independently and many lack it in their homes as well. I am looking to get a few iPads, cases to protect them, and a charging station. My students deserve materials, technology, and curriculum that will help them to achieve their potential as 21st-century learners. Your generous donation will allow them access to educational websites such as Epic, Razkids, Prodigy, Pebble Go to enhance their reading and their critical thinking skills with math. Students would be able to explor these resources during our reading workshop rotations and guided math rotations. Students with communication difficulties would be able to use the technology and special apps to help communicate their needs throughout the day as well. Thank you for considering our classroom.
