Six iPads will give me the ability to be in two places at once! The technology teacher and I have devised a way to record lessons that I teach and share with students. Using Seesaw on these iPads will allow my students to follow along with me on their own practice page while I am instructing other students. This will give me the opportunity to work with two small groups at the same time! iPads have many educational apps that aide and reinforce learned concepts. However, we would like to use these iPads as a way to engage students with our daily lessons. I would like to introduce a concept to the whole class and break up into small, rotating stations to practice the skill. One station would have the iPads with their assignment sheet. They would then be able to access the teaching video and work through their page with me. As many people know, state funding has been on the decline. With that comes less help in the classrooms despite class size. Working in small groups is essential for student growth. Having enough iPads for each student in a small group would allow them to be engaged and focused during our math and reading instruction. Additionally, it would be another way to effectively differentiate instruction for all the varying abilities in my classroom. The size, speed, and durability of iPads would be most appropriate for young children and allow them more independence in using technology.
