As a kindergarten teacher, I strive to make my students comfortable in their first classroom setting. When students are comfortable they are able to focus better than when they are sitting in the basic, plastic, classroom chairs. Currently in my classroom I have 2 reading pillows that all of my students love and want to use. My students show more interest in reading and working when the pillows are available or when they are able to lay on the floor with a clipboard. I would love to provide them with more comfortable work spaces. These flexible seating options will not only provide comfort in the classroom, but will also allow them to move while learning, and have control over where they choose to work from. Physical movement is a big factor in learning. These balance ball chairs will allow them to wiggle and bounce, which will increase oxygen flow to the brain! I also strive to empower my students to be in charge of their learning. Between the balance ball chairs, wobble cushions, and comfy floor seats, they will be able to pick a spot that works best for them.
