Students need to experience the governmental process in each stage and where it takes place. Citizenship is created not born and sparking interest in how our government functions and where is a vital link to active curiosity and future voters. The students have been reading about how the government process works, elections and the inception of bills and laws however actually visiting and participating in the process would be an unforgettable life experience! No amount of webquests and online field trips can compare with the actual visitation of historical and political sites such as the state capital where actual policies are written and hands-on learning takes place.
