Third grade is a pivotal time for young readers. In this grade, students that aren't sure if they love reading or not will often choose between wanting to read and not based on books that they are reading at that time. Do you remember an influential book from your childhood that made you love reading, or want to read more? The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is one of those game-changing books that could turn some of my "on the fence" readers into book worms. Using this as a class read-aloud will hopefully capture the imaginations of my students and let them experience what it means to love reading.
