Technology has helped my students grow leaps and bounds. From the ones that can’t spell or just need help building vocabulary to the ones who can barely write the alphabet, they have started writing short essays using technology. Students with certain disabilities have a hard time connecting and communicating but technology has helped in filling in the gap. Half of my students cannot read above a kindergartner level and have been struggling with phonics. Since they started playing computer phonics games they have started catching on. Technology has also helped my students connect more when testing. It allows them to use accommodations to take their grades to the next level. Unfortunately, the only technology I have for my students is left over laptops that have at least 4 or more missing keys. I believe my students deserve better. I hope you will join with me to provide better.
