Our school utilizes the phrase, "Small town location. Global education." It is our goal to provide students with a comprehensive education that is not limited by geographical location. Google for Education recently donated 80 Google Cardboard Virtual Reality Viewers to our school; however, many of our students are limited by not having access to a smartphone device required to view content in virtual reality. With these BLU R1 HD devices, students can virtually immerse themselves into content that is often abstract and previously-impossible to interact with. Virtual Reality offers equitable experiences for all of our students to participate in 21st Century learning. Whether traveling inside of a cell, the human body, or walking alongside dinosaurs, virtual reality allows students to "experience" content that will ultimately promote greater engagement, learning outcomes, and interest in STEM subjects.
