My 5th and 6th grade students learn in an inclusion classroom within an urban area of New Jersey. During the course of the day, I educate 100 diverse students who come from all walks of life. I have students who receive free or reduced lunch, come from single parent households, and live in some of the unsafest neighborhoods of our city. I also educate students whose families can afford to have them participate in many extracurricular activities and enrichment classes outside of the school setting. Finally, close to 25% of the students I see on a daily basis also have an individual education plan (IEP) for their learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral needs. My students, although very different from one another, all share something in common - a very real desire to learn. They are all motivated and seek to learn more about the world around them. With a Time For Kids subscription, they will realize that they are all a part of history in progress.
