The special education room at my school doesn't get any of the materials kids bring at the beginning of the year. The school supplies listed will be given directly to my students, who will use them throughout the year. In special education classes, color coding is a visual way to help students better organize and understand more complex concepts. The materials will help make my classroom a warm, welcoming, and effective learning environment for my students. We are missing essential school supplies for them to learn. Things like notebooks, pencils, markers, and glue are all things my students need. Unless they buy them, they aren't getting them at school. These materials will make it easy to reach my students where they are. They will provide visuals for students who struggle with just auditory learning. It will also create an environment where they are excited to learn.
