Autism classroom in crisis, new teacher, new para and sparsely supplied room; these children need a place to enjoy, feel safe, feel worthy and enjoy learning! These autistic children learn in small groups. The mobile easel will give the teacher access to a white board in multiple areas of the room. The children need a social/emotional curriculum to help with their feelings. The reading couch will promote and encourage the joy of reading. The headphones and calculators are utility needs. As a special ed teacher in a contained classroom, it is my experience that these children progress faster in an environment that makes them feel worthy that their teacher cares enough about them to give them the best learning environment that she can! Thank you for taking the time to explore our needs.
