Over the years, I have found that providing snacks to kids can be extremely helpful both as a reward and also to ensure that my students get proper nutrition. Many of my students, often do not have food at home, or they may skip breakfast, and often do not eat dinner. They often come to school hungry and even school lunches or breakfasts are not enough. Many of my kids take meds and the side effects can be difficult, having a healthy snack during the day can offset the side effects. I especially love to provide a healthy snack during therapy sessions which often helps students feel more comfortable and at ease.
