Taking a small group of students to the side and giving them 3 or 4-on-1 attention has shown such success in many classrooms. While whole-group instruction is crucial to learning, working specifically on the lesson's skills in a small group setting allows students in engage more. In the small-group setting, students open up more and are more willing to make a mistake when there are only a few eyes on them. When students are in a open and comfortable environment, their brains are much more willing to learn. With these awesome stackable stools, students will be able to "huddle" at the small-group table comfortably. At this point, we are gathering on the rug for our small groups. There is just something about sitting at a table that demands more focus. All in all, I am so excited to even think about all of the opportunities my students will be able to experience when learning and clarifying lesson concepts in small groups. With these stools, students will have their own place to help them sit and focus in the smaller setting. Changing a seat may seem like such a simple concept, but it can make a world of difference in our small group time.
