Our project allows middle school students to participate in VEX Robotics while being mentored by our high school students. Through robotics, our students get the opportunity to design, build, program, and compete with other schools. Through this S.T.E.M. program, our students not only learn things that are not offered by their current middle schools, they also learn character aspects such as: team work/team building, perseverance (that through failure comes opportunity), public speaking (through the interview process of robotics), and the importance of working together. Currently our program has no funding and our students must borrow supplies from our high school. Receiving a computer and some tools is the first step in making this program more independent and allowing our students to utilize their own materials.

About my class
